The wav.
MILKY WAV. Episode 1 explores the first two planets in the Milky Way Galaxy
(Mercury and Venus) and it aims to establish the sonic landscape in which all the songs find their orbit. Ultimately, the Milky Wav. project will make a stop at all 8 planets in the solar system, unearthing their unique characteristics and mythology through sound and milky wav.files.
The tall poPpy apprenticeship with composer Jeanine Tesori was this project's Big Bang. Created in conversation with the ballet/play a lot much more, MILKY WAV. completes Mars' poPpy project series and celebrates marginalized communities while interrogating Art’s relationship with Identity Politics.
Jeanine Tesori's music is a big inspiration for MILKY WAV., namely her work in the musical theatre and cinematic spaces. Studying her expansive canon, it's clear that three undercurrents can be found in each of Tesori's scores: her ability to develop story through sound, transform genres, and collaborate with stellar artists. With these three elements as the celestial-map, MILKY WAV. was created using genre blending as the compass while collaboration served as the North Star for the modern mythology in the making.
